The Bling Ring er det nye filmen til Lost in Translation-regissør Sofia Coppola. Ja, hun har masse andre gode filmer på samvittigheten også (Marie Antoinette, Somewhere), og hun er dattera til faren sin, men det er nå engang slik at Lost in Translation fremdeles fremstår som hennes mest ikoniske time (halvannen).
The Bling Ring handler om gjeng tenåringer, besatte av mote og berømmelse, som gjør innbrudd i kjente personers hjem i Hollywood. Blant annet Paris Hilton sitt, som også er tatt i bruk under innspillingen. Filmen er altså basert på virkelige hendelser, og den ikke akkurat ubeskrevne Emma Watson spiller en av hovedrollene.
Filmen har fått fin god mottagelse i USA, blant annet fire av fem stjerner i New Yorker og Time Out New York.
